Griselda Rosas first joined the City of Brownsville in August 2002, as an Administrative Technician I in the Office of the City Secretary. 

Since that time, Griselda has served as an Administrative Specialist II and Administrative Supervisor, and Assistant City Secretary.

Ms. Rosas was promoted to City Secretary on June 6, 2017 and currently serves as a member of the City Manager’s Management Team. 

Ms. Rosas holds a very important role as the City Secretary/Local Registrar/Public Information Officer/City Sexton/Elections Administrator/and the Custodian of Records.  
As City Secretary, Ms. Rosas is the first and most direct link between residents and government and she is responsible for providing transparency in local government.  

Ms. Rosas is an active member of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association and the Lower Rio Grande Valley City Secretaries/Clerks Association and holds certifications for attending seminars, such as Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program (TMCCP) Election Law Seminar, TMCCP Open Meetings Act and Texas Public Information Act, TMCCP Records Management and HR Practices.
