Since that time, Griselda has served as an Administrative Specialist II and Administrative Supervisor, and Assistant City Secretary. Griselda has also served the City as Interim City Secretary from June of 2017 to August of 2020.

Ms. Rosas holds a very important role as she is first in line to assume the duties of the City Secretary, should the City Secretary have to be out for an extended absence.

Ms. Rosas is an active member of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association and the Lower Rio Grande Valley Chapter of TMCA and has attended several seminars and training events on important topics to the City Secretary’s office and the City, such as Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program (TMCCP) Election Law Seminar, TMCCP Open Meetings Act and Texas Public Information Act, TMCCP Records Management and HR Practices, and Texas State Library and Archives Commission Records Management Training.  She has also completed the Open Meetings Act Training and Public Information Act Training through the Attorney General of Texas.  Ms. Rosas is enrolled in the Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program through the University of North Texas to obtain her Texas Registered Municipal Clerk certification, which is a professional development program with college/university-level courses. Personal and career development is the goal of the program, where the municipal clerk gains a greater sense of confidence and self-esteem as professional growth and development occur. The Texas Municipal Clerks Certification Program provides current insight into such areas as public relations, interpersonal communications, and community organization which will improve on-the-job ability and enhance the clerk personally and individually.
