The Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of Brownsville (HACB) consists of five members and one of the members must be a resident of the Public Housing Program or Housing Choice Voucher Program. The Board Members are appointed by the Mayor of the City of Brownsville. It is the responsibility of the Board to interpret the policies that govern the HACB, which are subject to the mandates and limits set by State and Federal laws, and to chart the direction of the agency and ensure sound fiscal management. The Board holds their regular meetings on the fourth Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. in the Rosa Allala Board Room at 24 Elm Street. Special meetings may be scheduled to meet particular deadlines or to ensure a quorum is present to conduct business.

The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) Board of Directors meet the last Thursday of every month at 12:00 P.M. at the Young House on 500 East Saint Charles Street, Brownsville, Texas. Below you will find current and past agendas, as well as minutes, for each meeting. The BCIC abides by the Texas Public Information Act for the benefit of all residents in the state of Texas. Texas Government Code, Chapter 552, gives you the right to access government records. Please be aware that meeting minutes are posted as soon as possible once approved by the Board of Directors.

Our 5th Annual Run with the Police 1mile/ 5K, is a fundraiser for Down by the Border and Alhambra. It is also a fun event to promote health and wellness for our community. Participants will run alongside Officers and some of them in SWAT Gear. So come out and be part of this great event.

The 5K is starting at 7:30 AM
The 1 mile run will be right after the 5K
early registrations ends 9/12/2019
late registration ends 30 minutes before race
1 mile : 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies by age catagory and gender: 6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14. Every 1 mile participant will get a medal.
5K: 1st 2nd 3rd place trophies by age catagory and gender 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 60 and over.
Team awards 1st, 2nd, 3rd for schools with most students that finish race.
Packet Pick-Up Thursday-Friday 9-26- 2019and 9-27-2019 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
