  1. Easter Egg Hunt at the Brownsville Sports Park

    Hop on over for some egg-cellent fun at our FREE Easter Egg Hunt! The event will take place Thursday, April 18 from 6PM to 8 PM at the Brownsville Sports Park. Enjoy mobile recreation activities and all candy inside the eggs! Egg hunt will be divided into age groups: 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 and Special Needs. Be sure to bring your own basket. The Easter Bunny will be at the event too!   3. Firefighter/Paramedic Entry Level Exam

    April 20, 2019, 9:00 AM @ Brownsville Event Center

    An Examination will be administered on Saturday, April 20, 2019 for the position of FIREFIGHTER/ PARAMEDIC for the CITY OF BROWNSVILLE. Applicants (MALE or FEMALE) must be a minimum of 18 years of age and not be over thirty-six (36) years of age. Must be able to pass the Physical, Mental and Background Investigation. All applicants must be able to read and write the English language and must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D. All applicants must be eligible for future certification by the Commission on Fire Protection Personnel Standards and Education. The eligibility list will be valid for one (1) year. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Applicants must register at the Office of the Civil Service at 1001 E. Elizabeth Street, 2nd Floor, Brownsville, TX, no later than 5:00 P.M. on April 12, 2019. Applicants must register in person. (Out of town applicants may apply by mail or fax, 956-546-4021, with the required pertinent information.)

    The City of Brownsville Health Department in conjunction with the local veterinarians and B.I.S.D. will be sponsoring the 2019 Rabies Clinics. The cost will be $12.00 per pet; other boosters will also be available. Prices for other boosters are not set by the Health Dept. Prices for boosters will vary per vet clinic scheduled. All pets must be vaccinated yearly against rabies and tags must be displayed on the pet’s collar.
