The public is welcome to enjoy time outdoors with activities such as: exercising, walking, jogging, hiking, biking, strolling, bird watching, and dog walking.
Currently only 16 park locations have opened playground amenities, four parks locations per district (Brownsville has 4 districts). PARD will reopen as per its adopted Reopening Plan and only when public health measure criteria are met.

Occupancy and age limits are posted at playgrounds, along with bilingual signage asking families to take safety precautions before visiting parks and or trails.
PRO TIP: Use the restroom at home before you visit a park or plan for a shorter trip. Pack for an outing, make sure you have your essentials: bring own water bottle, sanitizer, wipes, etc.

If you decide to visit a park or trail, please abide Current Declaration Amended of Local Disaster For Public Health Emergency Order guidelines. Protect yourself and others. Make sure you're wearing a face mask (face covering) and always practice social distancing. Maintain distance--Stay 6 feet away from other people. Avoid mass gathering. No crowds, no groups.
COB PARD staff will be working to help maintain the standard upkeep, maintenance, stewardship of site facilities.

About this Park
Amid the hustle and bustle of downtown shops and merchants, citizens can enjoy a moment in the shade at the 14th Street Plaza.
Awards:
AARP Texas presented the City of Brownsville at $20,000 check for the "transformation and activation" of the 14th Street Plaza on Tuesday, August 20, 2019.
The grant is part of the AARP Livable Communities initiative which supports the "efforts of neighborhoods, towns, cities, and rural areas to be great places for people of all ages."
