BROWNSVILLE, Texas (March 1, 2018) – At a press conference held Thursday, March 1, 2018, Brownsville Mayor Tony Martinez, in partnership with Matamoros Mayor Jesús Juan de la Garza Díaz del Guante, announced the Bi-National 10K Run & 5K Run, to be held at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018.
The Bi-National 10K & 5K Run is presented by the cities of Brownsville and Matamoros, in partnership with: Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation; Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport; Mr. Amigo Association; Port of Brownsville; Texas Southmost College; and The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
The Bi-National 10K & 5K Run, benefitting the TeletonUSA Foundation, will feature:
“Instead of a race, make it a run,” said Brownsville Mayor Tony Martinez. “Take a look at what’s going on everywhere. Embrace it. Love it. Thank God for it and say, ‘you know what, we are one community, one family, and we’re going to be healthy…’”

Entry fee is $10.00 for the 5K Brownsville route / 10K Brownsville-Matamoros route / 5K Matamoros route. Participants will receive a medal and t-shirt (subject to availability).
The TeletonUSA Foundation is a non-profit organization based in San Antonio, Texas, raising funds to build and support the Children’s Rehabilitation Institute of TeletonUSA (CRIT), which assists children with neurological and musculoskeletal disorders such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spinal cord injuries, genetic disorders and amputations.
