Brownsville Ranked Among 25 Safest Places to Live

BROWNSVILLE, Texas (June 11, 2019) –  U.S. News & World Report on Monday, June 10, 2019, published a report, including Brownsville, Texas as one of the 25 Safest Places to Live in the U.S. in 2019.

The report uses information compiled from the 2017 FBI Crime Report that shows a decrease in crime rate. 


“The Brownsville Police Department stands committed and dedicated to public safety,” said Brownsville Police Chief Felix Sauceda, Jr. “We will continue to foster and nurture partnerships with our community.” “Together we will ensure safety and promote quality of life issues. Together, our officers and community partners have made Brownsville one of the safest cities in the nation. Although these numbers are strong, the responsibility of preserving the quality of life for our community remains and we must continue to work together towards striving for a safer community."
