Directions to the Shelter


The Shelter is located at 416 FM 511 in Brownsville, Texas. Take the FM 511 (Port of Brownsville) exit and head East on FM 511. Watch for the green street sign to the right hand side that says "Brownsville Animal Shelter." Make a right on Baker Lane after seeing the sign. At the stop take a left. The Shelter will be to your right hand side.
  

Adopting a Pet



Adoption Packages


Please be advised that in order to comply with Texas State Laws, all animals adopted from the animal shelter must be spayed or neutered.

A dog adoption package is $99.00 and includes:
  • City License (Tag Included)
  • De-Worming for Intestinal Parasites (1st Dose)
  • Distemper/Parvo Vaccination
  • Heartworm Tested
  • Microchip (Tag Included)
  • Physical Examination
  • Rabies Vaccination (Tag Included)
  • Spay/Neuter Operation
  • First dosage of flea/tick prevention
  • First dosage of heartworm prevention
A cat adoption package is $99.00 and includes:
  • City License (Tag Included)
  • De-Worming for Intestinal Parasites (1st Dose)
  • Feline Distemper Virus (FDV) Vaccination
  • Feline Leukemia/Aids Test
  • Microchip (Tag Included)
  • Physical Examination
  • Rabies Vaccination (Tag Included)
  • Spay/Neuter Operation
  • First dosage of flea/tick prevention

*Public Servants & Students receive 50% off the adoption fee. Applies to any military, City, State, Federal employee, teacher or student with a valid ID or documentation.

Microchipping of Animals

 
$5.00 Microchip Mondays at B.A.R.C.C. from 1:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. on a walk-in/first come - first serve basis. Must bring proof of Rabies Vaccine (from the U.S.A.).

Leash Law


As per law, please remember to leash your dog.
