To serve and support the City of Brownsville through innovative management techniques and cross functional efforts.

The department’s base-level services provide an overview of the department’s activities and reflect the services required to meet the City Commission’s Strategic Vision and work in alignment with concepts within the Imagine Brownsville Comprehensive Plan. These service levels are essential for accomplishing the department’s annual Work Plans:

  • Provide an overview of the department’s activities and Reflect the services required to meet the City Commission’s Strategic Vision. 
  • Work in alignment with concepts within the Imagine Brownsville Comprehensive Plan.  
  • Facilitate and execute policy decisions of the City Commission.
  • Provide leadership and management support to the City organization. 
  • Promote and enhance organizational cultural development and participatory leadership.  
  • Evaluate service delivery for the implementation of best management practices throughout departments. 
  • Provide project and change management support, management, monitoring and reporting, citizen contact and relations, strategic planning, and agenda coordination.  
  • Develop 5-Year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and manage capital improvement projects in conjunction with other departments.
