Purpose


BCIC's Promotion and Community Event Grants provides opportunities for financial support in the amount of $5,000 or less for initiatives, activities and events that promote the City of Brownsville for the purpose of developing new or expanded business opportunities and/or tourism and further advances the mission of BCIC.

Requirements


Organizations requesting support from BCIC must be tax-exempted as designated in Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS or the State of Texas Comptroller's Office, or a department of the City of Brownsville.
  • Activities, events or programs must occur between one year time period.
  • Eligible expenses include media buys and/or expenses associated with promoting a specific event or program.
  • Grantees must credit BCIC as the funding source on all publicity.
  • Ongoing administrative or operational expenses for the organization do not qualify.
  • Organizations that submit more than one application, if awarded, will not exceed $5,000.
  • Promotion/Community Event must take place in Brownsville and open to the public.
  • Promotions or community events where the proceeds are to be donated, used for prize money, scholarships or pay for any form of tuition assistance for college or university study are not eligible to apply.
