Course Information

Course Design

The Brownsville Golf Center is an 18 hole golf course. The original design had a total playing yardage of 6,144 yards, but we have extended some holes and we are currently 6,350. We are planning to extended the yardage 3 holes to make it 6,600 total playing yards by next summer.

Fairways, Elevated Greens

We have large manicured Bermuda greens with a favorable holding play-ability for your approach shots. Our fairways have a good amount of grass and we are not a hard-pan course. We have some elevated T-Boxes and moderately elevated greens, nothing too difficult but no green is flat. The course Slope and Rating is 69.9/123 from the Back tees 67.3/116 (middle) and woman's tees 70.3/122.

Iron Game & Approach Shots

There are ponds and small lakes that come into play to some degree on 50% of the fairways. The course design will test your iron game and approach shots to the greens.

Best Value

There is an outdoor pavilion to enjoy, along with a practice putting green and a chipping green. The BGC is the best value for golf anywhere in the Rio Grande Valley and is one of the best kept courses in the area.
