STEP 5: Permit

If a building permit is needed, please see the Commercial Document Submittal checklist regarding repairs and remodeling for more information. An Application for Building Permit will be required if the proposed project consists of assembly use and occupancy (ex. restaurants, dance halls, places of religious worship, etc.) a parking site plan will be requested. Plans will be reviewed and a comment letter will be prepared for the applicant. Once all approvals have been received by City Departments and associated entities, the building permit is issued. During construction, various inspections will be required. It is the responsibility of the applicant / contractor to schedule all required inspections in the proper sequence. Once a building inspector performs and passes the Final inspection your project will be considered finalized and may proceed to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy if one is required.
