The Recreation Division offers various types of recreational opportunities for people of all ages in our community. Activities include after school programs, senior programs, special events, swimming pools, and cultural arts centers. The award winning Urban Center at Gonzalez Park is our community’s center for cultural arts and teen recreation. Sams Pool at Dean Porter Park is a beautiful outdoor public pool complex which offers swimming instruction and public swimming throughout the summer. The Ringgold Civic Pavilion accommodates various programs for seniors, aged 50 years and over.
Coming soon: The Parks and Recreation Deaprtment in conjunction with the Brownsville Historical Association will open the Southmost Heritage Center at Gonzalez Park. The center will be the areas’ first interactive, community curated museum and art gallery.
