Our mission is to respond in an organized and coordinated way to protect the lives, home and property of the citizens of this community from the ravages of fire and other disasters such as train derailments, airplanes crashes, explosions, building collapses, hazardous spills, floods, vehicle accidents and drowning.
To hold devotion to duty above personal risk, counting on sincerity of service above personal comfort and convenience.

Operating with ten pumper trucks, two ladder trucks, two Aircraft Rescue/Firefighting trucks, two brush fire trucks, two rescue boats, five Medical Intensive Care Units, and several administration and prevention vehicles the Brownsville Fire Department is among the best equipped in South Texas.
The City of Brownsville is currently a Class 4 city by ISO Standards.
Brownsville Fire Department serves the Valley's largest city from nine fire stations; a central station and eight sub-stations located throughout the city, including the Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport.

A total of 170 plus devoted Fire and EMS personnel, prevention officers and administrative personnel offer security and safety to the city's residential and business communities.
